98 DAYS UNTIL KIDNEY MARCH

They say the hardest part about working out is actually getting there, and the rainy weather definitely doesn’t help!

Well, here is some motivation from Jesse Stein at Landmark Collaberative Health to get you moving from thought to action:

  • The risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, and diabetes can be reduced just by taking the dog for a walk, climbing the stairs, or sweeping the driveway.

  • Walking just one mile (1.6km) will burn up at least 100kcal (420kJ) of energy.

  • Walking two miles (3.2km) a day, three times a week, will help reduce your weight by approximately one pound (0.5kg) every three weeks!

SO GET OUT, GET MOVING, AND STAY DRY!

100 DAYS UNTIL KIDNEY MARCH

Today is the day … the countdown begins … there is

100 DAYS UNTIL KIDNEY MARCH!

Have you joined the grassroots movement that puts kidney disease on the map like never before?

Tina Varner shares why she is inspired year and year again to be a part of the Kidney March experience:

“Kidney March was a life changing event for me. I walk so he and others with this disease can benefit through assistance needed on all levels.”

“Get Ready, Get Set, Get Walkin!”

Want to rock a KM iPod shuffle? Here’s how.

Have we got a challenge for you! Put your fundraising efforts into high gear over the next two weeks and you could be rewarded with a red Kidney March iPod shuffle.

The March is on! The first 50 Marchers and Crew to add $600 to their Kidney March fundraising account from May 1st – May 25th, 2013, regardless of current fundraising balance, will receive a customized, Kidney March inspired iPod shuffle.

You can do this. Not sure how?

Approach every local business you frequent with a donation form.

Recruit 10 friends to pass on your fundraising pitch to their email address books.

Send emails from your Kidney March profile to everyone in your address book.

Good luck! As always, call us at 1-866-956-2724 if you have questions or need support.

Remember, Failure is not an option.

Note: Donations must be credited to your account, either via the online or mailed donation form, between 12:00 a.m. MT May 1st, 2013 and 11:59 p.m. MT May 25th, 2013. Only the first 50 Kidney Marchers who add $600 to their fundraising account in that time frame will receive a Kidney March iPod nano.

Remember that processing mailed donation forms can take up to 2 weeks and we cannot allow extra time for mailed donations to be received and processed.

The fastest way to get credit for the donations you raise is through your online profile.

Many thanks to you and your generous sponsors for the support of Kidney March! We couldn’t do this without you.

This Mother’s Day Honour Your Moms. March for them.

Which is exactly what Stephanie, Team Captain of Mama-Bear’s Marchers is doing. And her reasons why:

“I’m doing it because my mom is the strongest person I know and on top of the things most mothers have done for their children, my mom has had to fight the silent disease for years while being the best mom she could be and never losing hope. Lastly, I’m doing it to remind my mom that she is the most important woman in my life, remind her that I’m proud that she’s my mom, and remind her that I will never give up hope; her kidneys may have failed her, but I won’t.”

Or, invite them along.

Is the Kidney March an amazing gift for Mother’s day? Absolutely. You could just buy her flowers, OR you could bring her on a 100 kilometre heroic journey to battle kidney disease. Kidney March is a family affair, and we’d love to have you join our ranks as Marcher or Crew.

Register you and your mom as a team between now and Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 12th, 2013), and we’ll reimburse her registration fee on Monday. And we’ll send your Mom a special Happy Mother’s Day message to acknowledge your gift.

Register Now at: www.kidneymarch.ca or 1.866.9KMARCH.
