Kidney March is thrilled to have a new sponsor, Clauson Cold & Cooler Ltd, for our dining tent and activity hub at Camp Hope. Catherine Coels, the president at Clauson, has been attending Kidney March events for years, supporting her long-time family friend 9-time Marcher Janice MacKay, and Janice’s sister-in-law Sandra MacKay, a 5-time Marcher.
“Clauson has always invested in the community and Catherine has such a generous heart. I am proud to be her friend, and we are so grateful for Clauson’s support,” says Janice. Click here to read more.
Canada’s largest agriculture equipment dealer, Rocky Mountain Equipment (RME), has joined the Kidney March family, signing on as a major sponsor for Day Two of Kidney March 2018. RME heard about Kidney March from James Maxim, a trailblazer marching for his third time this year. “This is a great match between Kidney March and Rocky Mountain,” says James. “RME has always invested in the communities it serves, and will be a powerful ally in helping us spread the word about kidney disease.” RME will feed hungry Marchers and Crew on Day Two, sponsoring lunch in K-Country, and a pit stop in Bragg Creek.
For the 4th year in a row, Otsuka employees are rolling up their sleeves to sponsor the lunch stop on the first day of Kidney March. André Mumme, Otsuka’s Manager of Stakeholder Relations, says supporting foundation fundraising events like the Kidney March is part of our company’s DNA. “Our customers have come to understand that Otsuka is in a class of its own. They recognize that our company has a unique culture and a big venture approach,” he says. André notes the Japanese company with a Canadian headquarters in Montreal is involved in activities that are meaningful for the community. “Otsuka employees share a unique and tireless passion to help enhance the health and quality of human life around the world.” Otsuka is also the national sponsor for the Kidney Walks Canada-wide. André himself certainly does ‘walk the talk’, participating as a first time Marcher this year!
Christian Girard marched last year alongside Glynis Webster. Both are jazzed to March again in 2018 and excited that André is coming onboard. “Seldom in one’s career do you get to be part of something so powerful. I came to Kidney March thinking I was handing out a few sandwiches at a charity event and was blown away by the people I met — their struggles, people they have lost, and their dedication,” Christian says. “Everyone was positive and smiling no matter their personal circumstances. There is nothing like Kidney March.”
